Curved Stairlifts - Convenience at a Cost

Curved stairlifts offer a great way for mobility-challenged people to get between floors. Conventional stair lifts usually run on a straight track along the side of the stairs so that you can easily get from one floor to the next. Curved stairlifts are used when your stairway makes a turn and a simple, straight track doesn't seem to work for your situation.

The major problem with curved stairlifts is that they are usually very expensive. Due to the fact that each installation is unique, the economies of a straight track are lost. The stairs need to be measured precisely and if the track is made wrong it can become a manufacturing nightmare.

Fortunately, there's a workable solution if curved stairlifts are out of your budget. Simply get a straight stairlift for each leg of your journey. For example, get one stair lift for your main floor to the stair landing and get another from the landing to the second floor. Though not as inexpensive as a single system, it can be much cheaper than curved stairlifts!
